VP of hardware marketing from Apple called today to dispel the rumors about the benchmarks on the G5 being skewed, read this for details:

:wtf: did you read the article? they admit to being completely open about the tests and that they would gladly retest--they chose the options they did simply because they thought it was fairer. All the questionable aspects of the tests (according to them) only made the g5's look better

Even if the benchmarks weren't legit that doesn't explain why the g5 walked over the other system in the photohop, and various other demos

HA! HA! I'M POSTING SHIT I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT!!11!

IBM's fab in fishkill is far superior to the fabs AMD uses. I had to work with AMD engineers while at IBM because our department was teaching them about our SOI technology.

One thing I will admit though, AMD > Intel

Yes, leave it to the product marketing to do the defending.

There's a bit of contridiction between his argument on why they use whatever setup for the Dell benchmark. But all these words coming out of his mouth with absolutely nothing to defend his words. The Veritest does show some suspicious activity in "tweaking" down the Dell to make the G5 look better. Clearly somehow Dell's benchmark numbers is MUCH wider than Apple's for the Dell. Not saying that Dell did not "tweak" their benchmark, but if Mr. Joswiak and his marketing team thinks that turning on hyperthreading and using a benchmarking with Windows is slower than do it and show the numbers.

Wow lets be a sackrider and defend the VP when he comes out and talks about their benchmarks. Of course he's going to say that to try and defend them, he's the VP and he knows lots of MAC sackriders will believe him. There is nothing wrong with MACs just because they can be a little bit slower doesn't mean you have to get your panties in a knot.

    :werd:

I said it already today, but I really do think macs are , but the overhyping and the lemming believing everything the marketing team throws at them is uber-:greddy:.

Not all Mac users are like this.

Unless you guys are running Linux on your Dell's I don't even see what the arguement is, Windows wasn't even in the same league..
