im either gonna get the 12in pb with the 1.33ghz g4 or the 17in imac g5 1.8

i hear ppl saying that a 64bit cpu will run slower with a 32bit app.

    what would be better at 32bit app. g4 1.33ghz or 1.8ghz g5?

if you don't have to have a portable, i'd definitely go with the iMac. faster in every way.

first, show them a fully loaded dual processor G5 with a 20" cinema display.

after they say, "that's ridiculous. you don't need a supercomputer just to write research papers and surf the web!", show them the iMac G5.

works every time. you have to raise their tolerance by first showing them something that costs twice as much as what you really want. at least that's what always worked best with my parents the few times they actually bought nice stuff for me when i was a kid.
