Second year in a row that we've come home with meet from opening weekend.

We sat on my toolbox and she used a bag of corn on the cab for a rest, redneck hunting at it's best. I used my bipod.
30 min. in she says, "There's one" (we had already decided to shoot anything that moves).
Right when she squeezed the shot I saw the second deer. But when she shot it just stopped behind a 5 foot tall pine. All I could see was about 5 inches of it's neck, so I took the shot:naughty:

Both shots a little over 100 yds.
She dropped her's where it stood with her .243....Mine fell too with the trusty .308
(about blew it's head off) As it turns out she got the mom and I got the yearling:mamoru: Sure was tender though.

Yeah that's the .308. Her .243 didn't even have an exit wound, but she shoots good so the deer's head hit the ground almost a second before it's ass:rofl:

Sounds like a good day to me.

And a girl that likes guns is unheard of where I live. I talk to guys I work with when I get a new gun and the girls alaways call me a gun nut and that Im wasting my money.

The next day however one of them buys 2 30g ipods and extended service warranties for $900 :ugh:

Headshots with ones like these arent a big loss. NEVER try to shoot a buck in the head however. You can never use it as a trophy then

    eww........... almost a gut shot.

Heres my 8 point taken down with a Weatherby Mark V in .270 wby mag.
The antlers don't do the size of the deer justice, I say it was about 200lbs but the antlers were smaller due to not enough food. Look at the base, its huge comapered to the size of the antlers.

Nowhere near a gutshot. Maybe the angle of the pic, but it was barely behind the shoulder socket.

    Nice cull buck.

I'm going hunting later on this month and in December. It's been years since I've had deer jerky, and I'M FUCKING FIENDING.

Deer will drop, dear friends. I must have me some venison.

I just went this weekend to get her a shot at something. Just so happens that two walked out instead of one.

I've got a big hunt coming up in about two weeks, so hopefully this won't be my last picture thread this season;)

We might get some sausage made.
