    :noes:

For those who haven't heard the rumors:
There is a rumored full frame Nikon in the works. It would be named the D10 (based on the D300 grip being named the MB-D10... as all other grips have kept the name of the camera they're a grip for).

    http://gizmodo.com/5015420/fake-nikon-d10-images-surface-but-mid+range-full+frame-dslr-might-be-real
    http://nikonrumors.com/2008/06/06/nikon-d10.aspx

I keep seeing more and more rumors about the Full Frame Nikon D10.

All intelligence I can gather is turning into a 12 MP full frame camera priced in the $2,200-$2,500 price range.

I'm getting the price based on the cost of the D300. They don't want people to pass up the D300 for the D10 and have the D300 stop selling.

So my question to you all... what would you be willing to pay for the rumored Nikon D10 and is the FX sensor incredibly better in than the DX cropped sensor?

I'd say they will sell it around $2500 or near half way in b/w D300 and D3

I'd say it's not coming out until late next spring.

Why is that? I'm kinda hoping it's not coming out for awhile because i'm hopefully getting a D300 in 3 or 4 months... wouldn't want to regret my purchase, lol.

My guess is that it'll be closer to 3k.

Because so far Canon has 4 different full frame cameras (if you include the different iterations of the 1Ds).

The Olympics are the most photographed event in the world. Not having it out before then would be a huge disappointment for a lot of people.

Ill tell you right now its not coming out before the olympics.

When they officially "announce" it, it will be months before it will ever be on the street. There may be a select few NPS members who may test a pre-production model at the olympics, but it wont be out for just anyone.

Not to mention, the Oylmpics will be dominated by Canon anyways :mamoru:

I'd be surprised if it's less than $3000. If it was $2200 like you suggest why would anyone buy a D300?

if its going to compete w/ the 5D, I would imagine it'd be a couple hundred cheaper than that since most competitive Nikons are a few $100 cheaper anyway. :dunno:

Nikon and Canon don't really have any cameras worth mentioning that do compete head to hea, so pricing doest really matter.

I was using the example of something like the D80 and the 30D. When I bought mine, the kit for the 30D was $1400 and my D80 was $1300. They might not go head to head, but they have close enough cameras to compete. :dunno:

That's what I've heard other people saying. You can get a 5D for like 1800 on amazon. Although i think that might be with some Canon rebates. So i'm still sticking to my 2200-2500 guess.

K, my official guess is 2500-3000 and it reaches stores next April. And it will be beautiful.

Thats great but do you really think Canon is going to let Nikon come out with a "cheap" FF camera and only throw up their ~4 year old 5D against it? If/when Nikon announces a D10, Id bet a large sum of money that the 5D successor will be right there with it.

true... but isn't the 5D MkII all but officially announced? :dunno:

This is the first I've read of the D10 rumors, I've seen 'rumors' and facts about the 5D MkII for a few months now.

Theres been rumors about the new 5D ever since it ran past its "normal" 18 month product life. Nothing it anywhere near official and everything is speculation. Im just saying that IF/WHEN Nikon comes out with a "cheap" FF camera, Canon will have an updated 5D to unveil.
