Just picked up a 20" ACD and I can't seem to adjust it to get rid of the fuzzy/blurry apperance. Its connected to my 15" MBP (if that changes anything)? I have it set to 1680x1050. This kind of reminds me of when i tried safari on my PC, it had the same fuzzy/blurry apperance, especially with the text. I tried adjusting the font smoothing to "medium, best for flat panels", automatic, etc. I don't see any difference. The colors seems to be far more saturated too. Is there some setting or option i'm not aware of that I can change to improve the sharpness? Or is this all because of Apple's style of cleartype "font smoothing"

Yep, did nothing. All it did orignally was connect my laptop to my ACD. Other than that, nothing in terms of improvement. Is there an optimal setting for font smoothing I should have it set to though?

no dice, i assume its just the cleartype/font smoothing thing by apple. It just doesn't seem as sharp as it does in the apple store or when i use my laptop without a display.

will have to give it a shot. Aside from the font smoothing and brightness, is there any other options i can adjust? Contrast by any chance?

i think it's basically just font smoothing/shadows in the fonts settings.
    contract/brightness wouldn't affect font display.
