Speaking of the lightning of course...

So their only ding on the ford is that the lightning is slushbox only, and doesn't have enough instant power

I wonder if that has something to do with the 4.11s in the ram compared to the 3.73s in the lightning :o

5 years, $12,000, and 2 cylinders more, and Dodge is barely catching up

They also fail to mention the dodge isn't rated for towing :o

You say it as if they worked on their truck for 5 years.

If they didn't maybe they should have :o It's been in the works at least 3 years. The dodge trolls on the lightning boards have been babbling about it forever

Doesn't mean they were actually working on it. It's not that hard to throw a big engine in a truck, lower it some, and do some cosmestic shit. ;)

It only seems like it handles better because it has less power on tap to push it around. :fawk:

I expected more out of the SRT-10. Wonder when there going to do a side-by-side comparo on the two. Hopefully before the next gen Lightning comes out.

The Car & Driver with the '05 Stang on the cover, did a pickup comparison. The SRT-10 pulled 13.xx with a 600 lb load. Hehe.

i don't understand, don't roots style blowers (what's on the L) almost have instant boost once you hit the gas?

i think it's the combination of the tq. convertor and the automatic, that makes it suck on the autocross course :dunno:

bingo, a nice shift kit would probably fix all of that but then why would one seriously autocross a lightning?

They are both cool trucks, but iv gotta go with the SRT! That review you read must have been from a bunch of fuckin morons. Superchargers dont spool. Turbos do. the Lightning IS NOT TURBO CHARGED!

If the reviewers couldnt even get that right then they cant be too smart.

They had the new Lightning concept at the SJ Auto Show. Looks 100000% better than the SRT10 they had there.

:rofl: Ever heard of a centrifigal supercharger? :slap:

Even with the roots-type on the Lightning, that boost has to travel through the IC piping and intercooler before it hits the engine. That's where the lag comes in.
