Functional before formal?

    Do you guys think it's better to first achieve the look you want, then focus on your strength or the other way around?

    I started with a powerlifting routine to build a base, then switched to a bodybuilding routine. What sucks for me is I want to look good as much as I want to be strong, so I'm always torn on what kind of routine to stick to.

    You can rotate between the two. Change is good. As soon as your progress slows or stops, you could switch to some new exercises, new rep schemes or a whole new routine/split.
