I have been working full time for the past 2 months and it seems it's impossible to keep a good eating/working out schedule. I eat a good breakfast, with a shake along with oatmeal and eggs. But then the problem starts. I work from 8:30 to 6 everyday (Mon-Sat) and only have one lunch break for 30 minutes in between. I usually take it at 2 or 3 and manage to get a decent lunch, something along the lines of a chicken wrap. Then I get home, drink a shake and go to gym from 7:15-8:30. I manage to eat at 9 and then have a shake before going to bed at 11. It's fucking hard to keep this up everyday, but I manage to do it so far. Is there anything I should change? Other full timers, how is your day set up?

    no cliffs :fawk:

wake up 5:30am have a shake on the way to my bosses house
    6:15ish i have a bagel

    work from 7-5
at 10 (coffee break) i eat pretty much a full meal, consisting of leftovers or a sandwich and some apples and bananas and whatnot.
1pm i eat another pretty identical meel

get home have a shake around 6
    hit the gym 6:30-7:30
have another shake with a big dinner pretty much immediately after. 7:45

drive home and see the SO for an hour or so, go to sleep

    repeat

its only crazy like this right now cause i drive 20 mins to my bosses and hten from there we drive 45 mins (hour way back) and so my days r really long. usually we work like 15 mins from his place. (i do construction)

Just bring small things to snack on throughout the day.

Here's what my day looks like:

    Breakfast 6:45 am

7 egg whites 2 whole eggs
    1/2 cup oatmel

    Snack 8:30 am
    14 g almonds

    Snack 10:00 am
    1 oz beef jerky

    Lunch 11:45 am
    2/3 cup cooked rice
    ~6 oz chicken

    Snack 2:00 pm
    detour bar

    Dinner 5:30 pm
    beef, chicken or tuna

Then whatever else I need throughout the remainder of the day to bring me to my calorie levels for the day. It's really not hard if you have a desk job like I do. If you're on an assembly line or something like that then I'd recommend the same stuff pretty much. It's easy to keep almonds and beef jerky in your pocket or nearby.

The only think I could think of would be maybe try working out in the mornings before work. A lot times it is easier for me to get through my day knowing that my work out is over with and I don't have to worry about it anymore.

yeah, but then I wouldn't have any of my work out buddies to go with, and i need them on chest day for spotting :greddy:

there would be no one to ask to spot me at 6 am because I've been there that early before.

and i hardly have any energy in the morning anyway, so it would be hard to get a nice workout

I work about 50 hours per week

5am i wake up drink a protien and creatine shake
5:30-7 lifting at the gym / 1/2 hour cardio
7am eat chicken breast, protein/ creatine shake, 2 piece of whole wheat toast, fruit (varies, orange, pineapple, apple, etc)
7:30-6pm work (.5 hour for lunch, 2 protein bars and a handfull of nuts)
6:30pm eat a couple chicken breasts, protein shake, fruits, 2 pieces of whole wheat bread
6:30pm - 9pm work on my house or spend time with the wife
    9pm-5am sleep

I live close to my gym and my drive time is counted as work for my job because i have to look over 5 retail stores in my area, the low amount of time driving makes my life easier, if i had to drive any distance for work or to go to they gym i'd hurt for time. It's hard for everyone on here i'm sure, to balance working out with family, job, school, etc but it's a choice you have to make if you want to be healthy or not, I just remind myself there are people with much worse schedules than me that workout harder than i do so i call myself a pussy and go lift , no excuses, just go, no easy way too bad days aren't 25 hours long, that extra hour would sure help

:werd: just got done preparing my lunches for the week

I just weigh everything out on Sunday and put it in separate tupperware containers. Almonds, beef jerky, and detour bars are all ready to go and I have 5 containers of 8 oz chicken, 1 cup of brocolli, and 2/3 cup rice in the freezer. Bring a bottle of Frank's red hot sauce and I'm good to go.

I also iron my clothes on the weekend for the days that would follow a training day so I don't have to do it when I'm dead tired from the gym at 8:30. Preparing things in advance makes everything so much easier.
