Is it just me, or does Cliff Rathburn's art look just like Ryan Ottley's?

cory walker, ryan ottley, and cliff rathburn all have the same sort of cartoony, thick-lined, over-the-top style art.

i think they're great, jason howard (kirkman's wolf-man artist) has the same type of style as well.

I like all of their art as well. But I'd say while Jason's art is similar to the others, it's just different enough to be distinguishable. I know there's a way to describe the difference I see but I can't put my finger on it.

jason howard reminds me of an animator. when i see his art, it reminds me of bruce timm, even though i love timm's art style much more then howard, i could easily see wolf-man as something animated. like when you see all the pin-ups and stills of the hellboy animated universe. if that was in a comic, you'd say, "man, that could definately be animated."

ottley reminds me of what he did before invincible, a goofy internet comic (a la penny arcade). even though his pencils have improved 1000% since he started back on issue 8

    :werd: on both counts.

So what did everyone think of Brit? I enjoyed the first two issues, but the 2nd felt a little lacking. A bit of Kirkman flavor but still different. Not as great as Invincible, but I think it can still turn into a good read.

i loved brit, i've got original prints of kirkman/moore's first run...and i loved seeing him in invincible. sure, the new series is not close to invincible...but it could be great.
