The dude with the shaved head who is talking at around 1:00-1:10 is the instructor here. He teaches all kinds of shit. That stick-fighting being one of them.

I find us becoming just like the Romans. This is very close to Gladiator type fighting. The Romans fell I hope our country doesn't do the same. Boxing one thing. UFC one thing. This nonsense should not be going on.

Eskrima and Arnis both use sticks, it's a necessary part of the art. Although it may look as if they are just whackin each other, they are trying out their techniques which they practice all the time.
Only way to learn how to swim is to jump in the water :noes:

reminds me of a quote from one of the machados, "On the ground most people are like a fish out of water... for me the ground is my ocean, and I'm a shark." or something of that effect

Nah, this is different. They're only hurting people who are willingly entering.

holy shit, that is pretty hardcore... I think getting hit by those sticks is far worse than getting punched or kicked lol.

My BJJ instructor fought with those guys a couple times. He said he would do pretty well once he got inside. But he also said when you got nailed with one of those sticks it is worse than any punch, kick, or knee you have ever felt.
