was doing some article browsing on t-nation and a few of the authors write that full body training leads to bigger hypertrophy and strength gains while ot recommends purs bb routine.

just got off of a few months of bill starrs and my joints are hurting so im switching to purs routine..

    my question is this:

right now i want to focus on size/body building, would i be better off doing purs routine or a full body routine for size? (authors say more growth hormone is released in full body training)

dont listen to the authors. Stick with purs and get yourself in a clean calorie surplus. You will have more intensity available for EACH bodypart if you do a split.

Individual body parts with basic heavy lift movements thrown in each week is going to make you grow the biggest, the fastest.

i don't agree that all of OT recommends pur's split. christopher's routine aka bill starr's routine is actually more of a full body routine than a split.

i am seeing better progress in strength and size on a more bb type routine than I did with the 5x5 which I did for about a year. splitting up the body parts gives u a chance to hit them with more intensity.

starting last week, I moved to a 3 day split hitting each body part twice per week.

I prefer to do it at the beginning... some people here say to do it at the end because DLing first will make them weaker on the rest of the exercises, but doing it at the end doesn't effect their DL performance. For me it would fuck up my DLs majorly to hit my back hard as hell beforehand.

In my experience routine doesn't matter nearly as much as people think or want it to.

pushing yourself as hard as you can, gettin good rest, and eatin a fuckload! Selecting a decent routine, or having a plan helps a lot sometimes though. For my deadlift i'm gonna stick to doing routines which plan out how much I'm gonna do since I tend to just pull heavy every week and end up stagnant or hurting myself
