    I'm not disagreeing with you.

I was a BMW mechanic for 5 years, and I drove a lot of cars, including M3's and LS1 F-bodies.

My experience was different than yours, but since you saw what you saw I'm not arguing.

My car was not stock at the time i had the large MAF and injectors, exhaust, intake and software. I would hang with Dinan Supercharged M3s. I figure the car made about 260whp at the time it was quicker then any stock Fbody cars.

    See? There you go.

I would have looked like a total ass arguing with you.

My experience has been that a stock E36 M3 is slower than a stock '98-'02 F-body. Most of the vehicles I drove were near stock, and that means that that in general torque/HP advantage of the F-body more than offset the weight advantage of the M3.

Once you start modding, that all goes out the window. If you add 80 horse to an M3 it's clearly going to walk a stock LS1 Camaro, and I'd like to see the look on the Camaro drivers face when it happened.

I'm assuming that the races between LS1's and M5's I saw were mostly stock vehicles.

what mods are done to the R?

turn the boost up, get a 3" downpipe, chip and you'll be spankin on that thing

    You're fucking delusional.

I/E + software (conforti? ) Euro MAF and injectors != 260 wheel. More like 240.

A stock F-body is 300+ wheel. And the same weight. It would still KILL you.

Dinan S/C is underpowered, but makes 290-300 wheel easy, it would also KILL you.

you can't just turn up the boost on this car, the ECU is too smart. i lie. actually, you can, but not the cheap and ez way. It will take an expensive electronic system.

The most common way to up boost is with an ECU upgrade, to the tune of at least $1000.

I am working my way up to a downpipe and exhaust, just taking some time. All i have now is a BMC air filter, the best you can get for this car.
