fucking iPhoto, i hate you. How can i turn it off?

    So it doesn't open whenever I insert a picture CD or a memory stick from my camera.

    This gay shit pisses me off when it opens.

    I know, how do i turn this gay shit off so it doesn't open every time i put in a CD or plug in my camera

    There's a preference pane that tells you what you want the computer to do whenever a certain CD type is inserted. DVD, Music & Photos.

    Go to console
    ps aux|grep -i photo
    killall 'process_name'

    I love that I can kill shit in OS X that pisses me off.

    :\ iphoto 06 is a pretty nice photo suite. any particular reason why you dont like it?

    applications -> utilities -> image capture

    or applications -> image capture

    change iphoto to whatever app you want to open

    apple is straight retarded for taking out the system preference pane that let you change those apps. :mad:

    they didnt take it out, its in the cd/dvd pref pane..

    same thing for default browser...you have to choose that in safari preferences

    what I'm talking about is slightly different, there used to be around 10.2 (IIRC) a pane that let you choose default apps like mail, web, etc. Since 10.3, apple moved that preference to an obscure menu of each of their default apps :mad: such a pain in the ass if you just want to change the default mail client.

    I didn't care for iPhoto because I like to edit my photos in photoshop and prefer the way I have my photos organized rather than in date format like iPhoto does.
