I started a gamefly account on monday, put like 10 games on the queue figuring I would get #1(SF4) & #2(FF13) first. I must be new to this because they sent me #10(Prototype) and just yesterday they sent me #7(Darksiders). :wtc:

Oh well, it's cheaper than buying a bunch of shitty games or renting them with a time limit.

    Great idea, terrible service.

I've still been a user for over a year though.

I've just heard everyone rave so much about netflix that I assumed this would be the same deal. My brother said he only puts the one game he wants at a time on his queue to avoid this problem.

you have to know how to work it. you wont receive ff13 for a few months at least.

however, i received games like Uncharted 2, Assassins Creed 2, Batman AA, God of War 3 on day 1 because i work the system.

netflix isnt great either imo, especially if you are asking for bluray movies. ive had the same list of like 8 movies in the my queue for like 3 months now and only one has been sent (movies like Zombieland, Inglorious Basterds, Boondock Saints 2).

yeah you find this out pretty quickly, leave your game Q empty and return games before new ones come out so the first copy gets sent to you.

no, it always works for me. it might take 2-3 days for them to send it, but it's better than getting a game you don't want.

Well I dont add games that I dont want to play. I dont mind waiting a while to get new games. I really want to play GOW3 but I'm fine with playing Darksiders and AC2 for the moment.

My thing is I still buy games wth multiplayer longevity. So I'm busy playing Bad Company 2 and the single player games are just disractions when i get bored with online.

That was mostly the reason I figured I'd get an account.

Put up new releases before release day and not after. If your Q is empty you're guaranteed to see it ship the day before release.

is it surprising? this service appeals most to gamers. For netflix, no one is going to all order the latest movies when it comes out because most likely people have already seen it. Games are different - when a new and popular game comes out, then EVERYBODY will put it on their Q. Its impossible for gamefly to keep up with that demand.

Also a movie takes 2 hours to watch, but even the shortest games take 5x longer to beat, and some games can be anywhere from 50-100 times that before the player feels satisfied.

FYI you can get brand new games on release day or the next day if you time it right. But yeah they're retarded, the skip queue order all the time regardless if it says a game is high in stock.

    I think it works like this;

    Person A's Q: 1-3: New Games 4-10: Old Game
    Person B's Q: 1-3: New Games 4-10: Empty

So It's easier to give Person A the old games to free up more new games for people that have only new games, like Person B. :dunno:

I don't have the patience to wait 3-5 days for my next game. The service is truly terrible, I gave up on them a while ago.

I just play demos or borrow copies from friends and then buy the game for like 20-25 bucks on ebay later.

how long do you think till PSN offers a pay per month service like this to rent games? probably sooner rather than later.

It might also depend on which warehouse has games in stock. I think it might say stock is high even if your closest one isn't. In which case it defaults to the next game in your queue your warehouse has plenty of. If you have nothing else in queue but a game your warehouse is low on, you get shipped a copy from a different warehouse. Which blows for me because there's only one on the west coast and it adds a few extra days to shipping time.

That would kill GF depending on how the rentals workout and if they can manage to make download speeds good with it.

It could take four days to d/l and it would be better then GF, you would get every new game you wanted.

If they allowed you to preload the games like on Steam I would sell my Xbox just for that service.:bowdown::bowdown:
