Fuck the main forum, i can't be arsed.

I've just come back from one of the most amazing weekends i've ever had, and possibly might ever have.
It may not sound very entertaining or awesome to you guys though :o

Went to this entrepreneur thing for students across England, and was thoroughly amazed. Some really bright and brilliant students that genuinely will lead this country some time soon. Brilliant speakers and events. Fantastic programme. Awesome networking sessions.

I genuinely can't put how awesome it is without going into superfluous details about every other thing, but i left it a few hours ago with the outmost eagerness, excitement and hopes. Gave me a shit load of ideas, plans and things to consider.

I can now safely say that i'm going to continue on this (enterpreneurial) road and it can't be anything else but amazing.

Here's to hoping that i can become rich and famous in the process

    :o

Not much but to vent my excitement :o

The agenda i suppose you'd say.

    No, they didn't.

    To clarify;

This brilliant young (She's Canadian, but i won't hold that against her) woman from Oxford came together with some other university entrepreneur leaders (as in presidents of enterprise societies) and founded this group called NACUE. That's the launch of it that we attended.

There was about 30+ Universities represented and most had two or three people from it, so it was a great gathering. Some were still undergraduates, some had finished their degree's but were on a sabbatical yea and some were just about to finish their degree's and had along their successor to train them in becoming the new society leader.

What we were there to do essentially was to connect with all the other universities and get some projects going together and supporting each other, specially in our own regions of the country. We were taught how to help foster people in their creativity, inspire them to become enterprising or full-fledged entrepreneurs with their own businesses and develop the skills, knowledge and networks of our fellow students.

Some of the people there were just absolutely brilliant. It's rare for me to find someone i can connect with so easily, but almost every single one of them (except for this bitch of a girl) were easy-going, had similar ideas and future prospects as me (building their own business while founding/developing their own enterprise societies) and were all around awesome people.

The workshops they had were amazing. Normally i don't like the word "workshop" because it has so many negative connections for me. But these were really informative, inspiring and creative. One example was how to get sponsorship for whatever event we wanted to do. A lot of people suggested a shit load of sponsors and people that had helped them out, which helped the rest of us new to this. They told us all the creative ways in which you can get a sponsor to help you out (one guy had cardboard cutouts of the CEO and CTO of a company he went to ask for a sponsorship. He easily got it) and what to do in order to attract sponsors and all that shiznazz.

The speakers were great as well. We had for example Julie Meyer who's an international invester who's backed many companies such as Skype, Lastminute.com, espotting and others. She was really into helping young entrepreneurs build their own companies and had some great tips for us if we ever wanted to seek funding ourselves or who to approach and what to do if our students needed it themselves.
There was also other great people there like Rob Aldrige (founder of the Capita Group, one of the world's biggest outsourcing companies and all around great guy), Brad Rosser (previously the right hand man of Richard Branson and helps young business grow) and even lesser known ones such as this Derek Arden who was a brilliant speaker in negotiation, presentation, branding and all that. Really creative and inspiring.

I've made sure that both he and Julie Meyer are coming to my university :mamoru:

Another cool highlight was us going on the London Eye (haven't gone on it before, mainly because i hate London and tried to stay away from it in my 5 year stay here) as the sun set and having great conversations with the fellow entrepreneurs (and this really really hot chinese/canadian woman) and watching London bath in the cool sunlight. A bit weird, but it was really cool :o

The networking sessions we had were brilliant and i've got waaay too many people to contact and build ideas and bonds with in the next couple of days. Some really amazing stuff to be honest, though most of you guys won't be as chuffed as i am about this.

Those two days were just amazing and probably the best two nights i've had in England so far :o
