Went to a gun shop after work to get my M&P 9c appraised because I want a G19. They take a look at it and I stand around for 10-15 minutes while the guy is in the back. Another guy goes to ask him and he walks out and says, "Oh, $300." They sell these for $550-$585. I dont fucking understand why people still go there. As I came in, another guy just purchased one. :ugh:

Mine has had 260 rounds through it, night sights, and 3 mags which would offset the cost of the rebate and 2 mags.

PSA: Do not shop at Denny's Guns in Kansas City, MO.

Alot of shops do that. He's going to give you three hundred then he needs to get his cut. Plus any time he holds on to the gun. I took a huge loss on my kimber because I wanted a glock. I'd sell privately if I were you.

Selling back to a shop is as dumb as trading a car in at the dealer, your going to get raped.

Thats the best deal you'll get offered from a shop, throw up a WTS FTF ad over on arfcom if you want to try to get more then that and not deal with shipping.

Not that they're "dicks" that's just smart business. I don't know any business that's in business to make friends, friendships don't pay the bills.

That's generally what you'll get at any other shop. Every day it sits on the shelve they lose money. So most rather not even deal in used guns.

Unless you are completely desperate (call me first) don't sell to a shop or even worst a pawn shop. (again, call me first :x: and I'll beat their price by at least 5% lol)

Find a local forum, thehighroad, thefiringline, arfcom, glocktalk and list it there and you'll get a lot more

It wasnt even the $300 offer that im pissed about. It was me standing there all that time and didnt even acknowledge that I was there. Another worker had to go ask him. I got there at 4:20PM and didnt leave until 5:00PM. They dont need to make friends but I guess they dont care about repeat business or referrals either.

5% of $300 is $400, right? I didnt do good in math.

btw, the shop I go to suggested that I wait until after the promotion is done so I can get more monies. :o

What are some realistic prices I could list the gun at?

yeah, most gun shops where you don't have an established repoire (meaning, you've spent at least 5-10k with them), will treat you like that. They have to deal with retarded pricks every day, not that I'm excusing them, but I can understand.

If you wanted to move it fast: $400-$450 FTF, I see them used for $429 every around here. And EVERYONE and their momma knows you got a rebate of some sort.

$450-500 with some extra mags and a holster or accessories, but don't expect it to move very fast.

    They're $500 guns new, so.

It is a business for them. They are in it to make money, turn a profit, and make more money.

It's a used gun. And, IIRC, there's a rebate going on right now which would "devalue" the used gun maybe even a little bit more.

No, you didnt. 5% of $300 is $15.

Hey, you got a better offer than I got on my Sig P229 with night sights on it. I was offered $300 for that and it has less than 300 rounds through it and is mint. I'm looking to sell it for about $650.

I like it, but I like the full size frames better and want to replace it with a 226 Elite in .40 instead.

I bought mine of mp-pistol.com for $425 with 4 mags. You could probably get 450 easy with 3 mags and nightsights.

Dude... it's every gun shop. $300 is more then you'd get at my local shops :mamoru:

They make there money off gun sales... if they give you $500 and sell it for $550 three weeks later, not to much profit. They have to pay rent, electrical, taxes, maintenance, etc... You're better off selling private.

That isnt too bad, really. Like already mentioned selling the gun back to a store is like trading a car in. They are wanting to make money and assuming you need money ASAP.

Why don't you like the m&p?

All stores are like that. Need to profit somehow.

    I bought a 100% like new condition M&P .40c with a CTAC holster for $400.
