I will be going on blockleave soon and was trying to purchase airline tickets for the trip back to NC.

Using the regular sites online travelocity, orbitz, etc. I was getting average costs of about $150 each.

I also called US Airways directly figuring it would be cheaper as I would be able to get a military price.

    :wtf:
The guy told me about $350 each.

    Fuck that shit.

    How is this possible?

I've had good luck with getting discounts with Delta. Don't know if they go your way though.

    No

US Airways is the only airline that flies their little puddle jumpers into this area.

Call US Airways and ask them for their lowest rate, include all flights throughout the day depending on how flexible you are.

I paid $366 for a flight from Los Angeles to Atlanta one stop, returning was non-stop. On the way back they moved me up to first class because I had my uniform on :coold:.

    kayak.com is all you need

also you have to understand how the airline ticketing system works:

airplane tickets are expansive, but they're heavily discounted or subsidized to induce
    business.

the military discount you get is based on the retail price of the ticket and since tickets are discounted based on so many factors, they dont' bother including that.

lesson being never bother with military discounts on plane tickets
