seriously, what a gigantic pain in the ass.

anyway, my cousin doesn't have a whole lot of $$, so they asked if i wanted to take pics at their wedding. i told them i just buy the camera shit - i don't really know how to use it. they're cool and the gang with that.

so they buy me a cheapo stroboframe (i can see why nobody likes that brand) and a tamron (?) belt & 2 lens pouches. i used the stroboframe, but just couldn't bring myself to use the belt & pouches.

i haven't gone through many of the pics yet, but here's a few. bring the hate.

    1) that water is just very very distracting and moreso - completely blown. but the bride and groom are captured nicely. I would seriously consider making this into a tight crop headshot.

    2) I like the composition and the shot aint bad, I just think that a macro lens would have given you a brilliant shot of the diamond facets.

    3) nothing wrong with this to me, just not terribly interesting

Wedding shooters have to have the skill of a portrait artist, the reflexes of a sports shooter and the patience of a nature photographer. It ain't easy.

it was overcast as hell outside, which didn't make it too fun or easy.

these were the only few i had done anything to, that's why i posted 'em.

i'll post some more for you guys to criticize later. :big grin:

I'd rather shoot on an overcast day than a sunny day. Nice soft light, muted colors and not as hot.

You were worried about getting the shots and that took away the fun part. Once you've got your confidence up, I think weddings will become a lot more fun for you (says the guy who's only shot one wedding in his life)

Because I've never shot at wedding before, I'd like to build more experience.

    Is that bad? :o

only take off things they ask for, or things that won't be there in 2 weeks, like acme or scratches.

I actually do too. better experience and you get to watch what goes on from the photographers perspective

are you serious? I've only shot one small wedding and even I know not to fuck with people's appearances.
