who is gonna pay almost $200/1000 for wolf? only ammo i use to be able to afford. when is this shit gonna end? might need to get an AK.

so i ordred a .22lr conversion kit for my AR.

I use wolf because i am poor. but now i can't even afford it.

    I wouldn't classify a $30 difference as much better.

And after shooting Lake City ammo I don't want to go back to wolf. :hs:

5.56 is going to go up again in the summer so quit bitching and buy it now. I remember when I paid 90 bucks for a case of xm193, but those days are over.

$300/k for XM193 makes baby jesus cry. And by "baby jesus," I mean, my wallet.

I only mentioned the AK price because I thought 30 bucks wasn't that much of a price difference either yet the original poster said

Reminds me of when I used to play at arcades in my youth. Initially, machines were a quarter to play... then it slowly but surely moved to two quarters and finally settled on a dollar. At that point, I just stopped going, saved up and bought a Playstation.

Wipeout, RR and B.A.T. owned that demo disc something hardcore.

I went to the range yesterday. I passed up on shooting my AR. I ran out of my bulk and they wanted $15.99 for 20 rounds. I usually shoot ~300 rounds everytime I go. I wasn't going to spend $240 on ammunition either. :(

heres a thought.....scale down how much you shoot per trip....i only shoot 3 or 4 mags worth through my AR everytime i go....1000 rounds lasts me nearly 10 trips....but i dont slam through them either....i actually shoot for accuracy.

Well, 4 mags would be 120 rounds. I am sure my round usage will go down as I have more guns.

This is what I normally do in one trip.

100-150 rounds of .45 through my Para Carry 12.
100 rounds of 9mm through my Glock 26.
    240 rounds .223 through my AR-15.
    50 shells through the Mossberg.

    .45 ammo: $15.00/50 = $30-45
    9mm ammo: $30.00
    .223 ammo: $14.99/20 = $180
    2.5" buckshot: $6.99/25 = $13.98

    Range Fee: ~$15
Total Cost per day: $253-$268 :o

This is why I don't shoot my AR as much anymore. Over the summer I bought like 1200 rounds of Wolf ammo for ~$2.49 for 20 rounds. I bought out the entire store. :wiggle:

A .22 conversion kit for the ar15 and/or handgun would allow you to cut your ammo cost in half (btw why are you paying $30 for 100 rounds of 9mm? 15 tops) and still get in some excellent trigger control practice. For that matter why 200 rounds of .223 should be running you half what you're paying too...does your range make you buy their ammo? Here's 500 rounds of wolf for half what you pay for pay for 250 rounds http://www.aimsurplus.com/acatalog/Wolf_Military_Classic_.223_55grn_Semi-Jacketed_Soft_Point.html If you're not a fan of steel cases here's some .223 for half as much as you're paying still http://www.aimsurplus.com/acatalog/Prvi_Partizan_.223_75grn_Boat_Tail_Match_Hollow_Point.html

Won't happen, I have to drive 45 minutes to the outdoor range I goto if I go out there im blasting alot of ammo, probably a couple hundred per semi rifle, plus handguns. If I go upstate to shoot I'm shooting even more, I've gone through a case in a couple hours before :o

Winchester White Box ammo is $14.99 for a 50 round box. Fuck, now that you mention it, it is loose ammo in 100 round boxes. I got the 9mm boxes confused with the .45rounds. :o

As far as the .223 ammo, I shot Wolf for awhile and it was garbage. I had a fuckload of jams and it was a pain to clean. I only shoot decent brass now. And, it is usually ~$15 for 20 rounds. :wtc: Usually the range ammo is the same price as Dicks, Sportsmans Warehouse, Gander Mountain, etc.
