I could get by on $3K too...

    I'd like a DSA FAL Tactical Carbine with a nice holo-sight & and a shit-ton of magazines.
I'd like about a dozen more mags for my Glock 19, and maybe a sight upgrade.
I'd like Knoxx Stock & Power Pack, and a set of ghost ring sights for my 870.

After all that I'd probably have a couple of hundred left over to blow on ammo.

I don't get to the range nearly as often as I would like & I've found that it makes trips to the gun store a lot more enjoyable, because I generally have the money to walk out with something new. :eek5:

Spend at least half of your gun money on professional training. You'll thank yourself later.

I'd get holsters and new sights for my handguns and reloading equipment with that money.

You can register up until a few days before the course. There's always the risk that the class will fill if you wait too long. We've had no problems filling classes this year.

The video is several years old. It should still be mostly accurate but in 2005 we made some content changes on our core classes.

3k would get me a USP, 1911 GI with some mods, lots of classes, and tons of ammo :)

The Camelback is recommended. You will hydrate more often and you won't have to keep track of your water bottle on the line. You don't need to have one.

Bringing more ammo is fine. You may get a chance to shoot it if you run more drills but we try hard to finish just under the ammo count. Expect to shoot 900 - 1100 rounds depending on how fucked up you are and the flow of the rest of the class. Once you take the class you'll understand how some students will shoot more and some will shoot less. Bring more ammo is never a bad idea.

You won't need a pistol light but if you carry one on your gun every day you should bring it to class. Don't train with what you won't carry and don't carry what you don't use in training.

Here's some more advice for your class:
