I've been looking for a web host that will allow me to create multiple users with limited access to specified directories.

I'd also like to be able to have complete control over creating the usernames and passwords. For example:

    username: ClientName
    password: iupgradedyerfilez
(only has read/write access to "clientname" directory on server)

I'd also like to have an Admin account that will allow me access to all of the directories without having to login using the sub-account to access each sub folder.

    Possible solutions anyone?

    Thanks.

I'm pretty sure DreamHost allows this, and they're cheap.

I emailed a rep at DH and this was his response:

"We do have this feature where you can remap the subdirectory so that you
can have the secondary ftp user to have read/write access to
ACME-fileshare.com/Client but the primary ftp user won't have read/write
access to that directory as both users are on separate home directories.
But it'll all be on the same website like you wanted with limited access
for the secondary ftp user. I hope that makes sense, but if you still
need more clarification, please let me know! :)"

From his reply it doesn't sound like the primary (Admin) would have complete access. Any solutions that would give the primary complete read/write access?

I don't see why an admin wouldn't have complete access...

MS's built in FTP does this via Active Directory. You set up an admin by just not creating his own directory.
