I am in the NG and I am a SMP Cadet in ROTC. I will be commissioning in December so I need to start trying to schedule BOLC 2. I was just wondering what anyone else that has attended BOLC 2 at Sill or Benning thinks.

I went to Basic Training and AIT at Ft Leonard Wood so I am sure BOLC 2 and 3 will be a lot better

Went to Benning as well. It's hot as balls, and the training is pretty serious.

    Benning...home of the Infantry/Ranger...

what more do you need to know?

In all seriousness, No one I know has liked Sill (BOLC II wise)....Benning does suck in the summer and the training is hooah focused but all in all, I'm glad I went to Benning and no where else.

    Benning hands down.
The city of Columbus sucks IMHO but Atlanta is only 100 miles away. As stated its home of the Infantry AND the Maneuver Center of Excellence, along with 3HBCT 3ID, the elements of the Ranger Regiment and all around good training.

If you havent attended things like Jump School or Air Assault you have the possibility of walking on before you have to go back to your home state. If you want to train, Benning is the place to be.

I just left Benning at the end of February. I am now at Ft Gordon

edit: also if you like to workout, the SFC Smith Fitness Center is second to none. I there for the grand opening and it definitely spoiled me :o
Oh and the new infantry museum just opened about a month ago. There were underway in construction when I was at Benning for OCS back in 2005.

Great thanks for the heads up everyone. I will hopefully be heading to BOLC2 in Jan or Feb and then off to Ft. Gordon for Signal school BOLC3 right after. Now I just have to try and get those dates so I can deploy with my unit.

Unless something changed, we kept a ton of alcohol in our barracks at Sill.

ugh cannot start scheduling my BOLC dates until the accessions crap is done even though I am guard and guaranteed my position...

I want to go to BOLC 2 in January or February but I think that will be tough...
