As long as I keep up on my multi-vits, is there any real benefit to eat the suggested fruit/vegetable servings?

The only thing I can think of that might be an issue if fiber, but hopefully OTFN can enlighten me a bit here. :x:

It's obviously best to get your vitamins/minerals from fruits and veggies, but If you're not going to eat them at least take a green food supplement like NOW Foods Green Phyto Foods.

not pointing at just you, but many people think multivits are a replacement for some good fruits and veggies

I take a multi simply because my diet isn't varied. Every single day of the week has each and every meal planned out. Less variety means less likely to get all the essential nutrients. I purposely overdo it with veggies. I get probably 4-5 cups with of fibrous green veggies every day. Nobody ever got fat off of veggies...

a couple glasses of orange juice a day plus a big ass serving of broccoli or lettuce is enough for me... i don't like taking vitamins.

    Fuck multivitamins - seriously.

I've never really liked the idea of mega-dosing vitamins. I think it's a bit of a fad to be honest, with very little actual scientific support behind it.

Besides, we have what... 50-60? vitamins and minerals in a multivitamin. Plants contains thousands of phytonutrients and we don't know their effects/benefits in the body. You should aim for variety - eating at least 5 different portions of fruit and veg every day.
