I was curious last night and looked up the nutritional info on fruits, and was shocked to see just how many calories there were.

According to many sites, a large apple contains 120+ calories, most of which come from simple sugars.

The same with an average sized banana.

Both have significant carbohydrate content (makes up most of what you eat).

I've been on a cutting cycle, but maintain a 4-5 piece of fruit-per-day intake. 3 apples and 2 bananas usually.

Now I see why progress may have been slow. I'm torn as to whether to take it out of my diet. I love fruit. (btw, is that fruity? kek)

    Oh. Why not?

Being on a tight budget, and fruit being so cheap, its always been a staple to my diet.

Thats a good question, and one that I really cannot answer. I have always been pretty picky when it comes to eating and never really like fruits and veggies. Ive always been primarily a meat eater, but I think it would help quite a bit to add some fruit to my diet.

Almost never. Over time I've grown to enjoy vegetables significantly more than fruits or most sugary snacks.

you're having too much fun with those carbs.

I see that your first mistake was not knowing how much you were consuming. Now that you have an idea you can reduce the amount youre taking in and see better results. Fruit isn't bad, but just not tons when you're trying to cut down.

What exactly did you think fruit was? Some days i have a lot, somedays i have none. :dunno:

Fruit is the only thing that i don't worry about as far as timing and consumption.

I go through 4-5 bananas a week, usually in my cereal in the morning after I run.

2-3 pieces of fruit a day.

I have a banana or an orange or something with breakfast. Some sort of fruit in my snack shakes, and maybe an orange or somethign as part of my second snack of the day.
When iw as onthe south beach diet i had no fruit for a fucking year, and in the end it drove me crazy because i really like fruit, and when eatting moderately and wisely throught the day, they aren't that bad.
