So lately I've been really shaping up my diet. I wouldn't say I'm on a diet, I'm just making some health conscious decisions. Needless to say, I've been dropping a few pounds which is motivating. My 20 year old cousin (who is not out of shape) recently got diagnosed with cancer, and it runs in my family as well as diabetes, so I'm starting to care about my health and not just getting strong like i used to as a lineman in hs. (i'm currently 20 too.)

I've been cutting out sodas or lemonades/sweet teas, and instead drinking diluted unsweetened tea. Instead of getting a bag of chips with my wrap everyday, I'm getting fruit. i cut out all greasy foods and fried foods, and im trying to lower my red meat intake too. I crave burgers and fried chicken everyday, but it's not unbearable.

I've also been eating 1-2 bananas each day, and I didn't realize how many calories they had. I was wondering what you guys thought about bananas or fruits in general since i know they are sugary. I figured they are a better option than a bag of chips, but they are almost the same caloric intake.

    Thanks. :wiggle:

They've got nutrients and fibre in that you wouldn't get from chips, so even though they're similar in calorie content they're much better for you.

Veggies and meats etc come first though. Use fruit as a decent tasting snack rather than eating heaps of it.

Fruits are awesome.. the only problem is they're sweet and juicy, so before you know it you're hungry for more.

If you can resist, then :coold:

Bananas are good. They are easily transportable be it if you are going to school or the gym, and take only a second to eat. Good nutrition!

ever since i bought that banana i've become addicted.... i have to eat a banana everyday, and now i'm starting to not feel it. I'm having to eat 2 bananas to get the same level of satisfaction.... i fear i'm heading into a dark downward spiral, i don't even know who i am anymore. :wtc:

:werd: And sometimes as a snack in the afternoon. Either that or an apple in the afternoon.

bananas and fruits are good if you count 1 or 2 of them as a full side...or 3-4 peices as a full meal
