MIL From the moment i sign up. How long till i get to basic training?

    Depends on if you want to go immediately or not. There is a Delayed Entry Program (DEP) which is what I did, so you can finish school or whatever. It was 7 months from the time I signed my life away until I had a Drill Sergeant in my face.

    Ask a recruiter...I doubt it can be done the next day though because of the paperwork but I think it can be done within a week or so.

    I wish to become a MP eventually.
    Probably stay in the military for a couple years
    then become a civilian police officer

    Disagree.
    Two agents I know were MP's and they're smart and tough.
    They were probably smart and tough before they went in, but they got a lot of experience fast.
