    Dallas MEPS is a bitch!

overall though I really enjoyed the experience and taste of military I did receive.

Now onto my ASVAB, It took me no more than an hour to take the thing, if even. Felt like 20 Minutes.

    My AFGT percentile score: 71

and composite scores under the NAVY/CG:
    GT 110
    EL 220
    BEE 217
    ENG 115
    MEC 181
    MEC2 174
    NUC 233
    OPS 218
    HM 166
    ADM 112

Can anyone elaborate on what these mean?

My recruiter is forever away, and ive only spoken with her via telephone. I go see her next thursday, but im anxious to hear how i did, and or what These scores translate to....

I wish they would standardize ASVAB results already.

i have the sheet that states Army, Air Force, Navy/CG, and Marine.

    all composite scores completly different.

and there seems to be no other Coast Guard guys on here.

Okay so the M is Mechanical, the A is Administrative, G is General, and E is Electronic. Your mechanical score is well above average and believe me, that will stand out! Everything else will get you just about any job that comes to mind with a few exceptions.

I can only imagine maintenance in the CG wouldn't be too bad. Can't say anything first hand though.

Coast Guard has a Rating of MK (machinery Technician)
dealing with all diesel and outboard engines.

but im leaning really towards the rating IT(Information System Technician) Because i used to have the title of telecommunications technician at my last job, and under the rating IT's "related civilian jobs" it says "telecom tech"

    and or

    Rating of OS(operations specialist)

I have a guarunteed school with OS, but i want IT. I have a job with a buddys company six years down the road. when finished with the USCG

I was at Dallas MEPS a couple months ago. I hated the bone and joint station. Duck walking on that linoleum(sp) hurt my feet:wtc:

Were the pool tables locked off when you were there, too?

The duckwalk and everything involved sucked. Especially the cold hand on the balls that followed shortly after. Then the much anticipated and long prepared for weight in:noes:

Go for the IT rating. It sounds like you're already well prepared for it and it would be a great stepping stone to where you want to be in the future!:x:

    yeah that duck walk blew....

that was the last station i went to before i was done.

    the pool tables were accessable.

atleast it was a cold 80 yr old hand who you knew had no enjoyment out of it.

what got me was the bend over and spread the cheeks immediately after that.

    Crowne Plaza?

    i loved that.

except at 3:30 for the wakeup call, power was out in the hotel. when we got to the ortho room for the duckwalk and weigh in.... one kid had his boxers on backwards. it was indeed hilarious. then he had to do the lunges and duckwalk. he pleaded for a chance to change the boxers around.

    I have a confession...

The hearing test really fucked with my mind. The phones cut off all noise, and pretty soon I started to feel like I was imagining beeps, or beeps would go and I wouldn't realize it. A couple times I pushed it for no reason. My hands and my ass were so sweaty

but it took me 5 minutes to get my composure back. I dont know what happened.

When we did the ortho room, I was wearing boxers where that hole in the crotch is really loose. Plus we had to sit on the freezing chairs in our undies for a total of 27 minutes waiting for more people. My dick was really itchy and everytime I scratched it almost came out . The guy next to me was getting really annoyed.

Ahh, meps, how I hope you are not exactly what the marines is like.

dude i was staring at the crazy texture of that sound booth and like started tripping out, i wasnt breathing becaue of the fear of missing a sound. and it was almost like hyperventilating(sp?)

when the voice said please wait for further instruction, i turned around and was like "wait, were we supposed to hear sounds or something?" and everyone cracked up... it was great. so many class clowns all piled together=limitless fun

I barely passed the hearing test.
No one touched my nuts but myself that day. Although my ass was on display.
I was nervous with the weigh in about the weigh in(I'm 'big-boned'.) I went down there with a good weight and even lost a few more lbs before the big weigh in.

Heh you got the same score as me (71) but I bet your GT by 1! 111! Also you have to have a 110 to become an officer so good job if you ever wanted to do that. I sucked at mechanical and ROCKED at administrative.

haha, did it take you what felt like only 20 minutes to do the test?

it was amazingly quick for me.... i come in and sit down, finish the test. and the guy next to me who was there when i came in, was only on part 4.

    felt bad for the kid.
