MIL friend wants to join the military but has a dui

    he seems to think this won't be a problem, but I'm not so sure.

    I think it's ~1 year old (he got it when he was 21 or 22)

    The Army will waiver one DUI normally as long as he is not on probation, more than one becomes an issue.

    the navy will take him. my buddy got in and was on probation from the dui at the same time.

    I had 2 and the navy still took me.

    I just spoke with him--he said he's on probation for another two years

    btw, his 1st choice is the air force (if that matters)

    Not going to happen, the Air Force has downsized and has a lower reruitment requirement, so they are able to have higher standards, but even then the Air Force is the most strict when it comes to DUI's.

    I just got a DWI two weeks ago and I'm trying to enlist in the Guard. My recruiter didn't act very happy (obviously) and said I can't do shit until every bit of its over with....I don't know though. My attorney is going to try and work something out with the prosecutor with me trying to enlist. We'll see

    he wont get in the AF

    we had a kid get a DUI here about 3 weeks, he was pulled from training, and sent to the class for people who are about to get out...all within 72 hrs.
