Okay guys, my dad got this lga socket p4 w/ a mobo and attempted to put it together. However, it doesn't work. I'm assuming that it is fried because the motherboard has the atx power cable, a 4 pin, and a molex connector on it. The manual specifically stated that only the btx connector and the 4 pin would be needed if you had a 24 pin, but someone didn't read the manual nor ask for my help.

So, he plugged in the 24 pin connector, the 4 pin, and the molex connector(which is only if you only have a 20 pin connector) and turns it on, and it doesn't work. I go and read the manual and see the correct config and nothing works. Any ideas?

So you get fans and lights when you hit the power, but nothing else? Any beeps? Try starting without any ram or video card to see if you can get any beeps out of it. If you do, the CPU and board are probably OK and its something else. This is where one of those little PCI POST code cards comes in handy.
