frequency of back squatting/deadlifting

    those of you that train for performance, how often are you guys back squatting and deadlifting.

    i'm trying to work a split which concentrates on each of the big 3 each week with accessory work performed after, but just wondering whether you guys are squatting and pulling at least once a week

    I do olympic style lifting and we squat and do heavy pulls each training session (four a days week). My training partner who is on the short list for the women's olympic team does both six days a week. In other words do both as much as you can handle without becoming too fatigued.

    Starting strength calls for squats every workout (3 days/week) and deadlifts or power cleans every other workout day. If you're new, it's an excellent place to start.

    Deadlift every other week.

    Rack Pull the week I do not perform deadlifts.

    Pretty much every week.

    no, SS calls for deadlifts once/week. when they get heavier, it suggests alternating powercleans and deadlifts as the pull from the floor for that week.

    This is off topic but what gym do you use? The U gym is crap, I'm thinking about signing up for the one that's off campus but part of the U, off 114th I think...

    i dos both once a week. Squats on leg day and Deads on back day.

    It's the two i look forward to the most out of my routine :o

    U gym isn't terrids...if you're in the southside check out hardcore gym. I go to the YMCA because there's one on the southside 111th st and 20ish ave which is closeby my condo, and I also work downtown so the downtown YMCA is really good for being close by too...

    the YMCAs don't have fantastic equipment but there's a rack and it doesn't get much use.

    I used to workout at millennium place in sherwood park. yuppie gym but the staff let me do my own thing there.
