So the ups guy tells me he's got a pallet for me, I'm like wtf a pallet? He's like yeah so he brings it out and drops it on the porch. I'm like ok and I sign for it and he says "whats it going in?" I said they were computers and he said that they deliver body kits hoods, transmissions, engines, he thought it was an engine first time someone ordered 6 servers. He said it was a 350 lbs pallet.

I still don't understand what you could possibly be doing from home that requires all that.

    He's not hosting anything.

He's using these to just "monitor" his websites that are hosted offsite. :mamoru:

Do you actually have a network of sites to move to them or are they just for future projects? Gonna be hard to host very many quality sites with that upstream though.

timewarner just updated their highest consumer connection here to 15/2 but I still wouldn't want to self host anything myself with only 2 up.

That's like having a supercharged big block V8 with NOS running on 2" wide bicycle tyres.

Wtf is the point of all that hardware if it's connected via standard cable?

I think thomor is probably just using the servers to spam mail...would explain why he needs a lot of servers and has no problem with a crappy connection.
