Right on! Yesterday while at my parents for my brothers birthday I was using my Orbis Ring Flash and my dad says "I have something kind of like that, I havent used it in years, but maybe you can use it"

He bring out this bad boy. Basically brand new. He said he used it once or something.

    Works awesome.

Nice! I got to use an Alien Bee Ring at the rental studio i use, thing was a monster but gives a really cool effect. I don't know I need the AB ring for the cost, but i'd love to get one of the orbis rings.

here's a shot with the AB Ring

Good catch. It looks like a macro ring light as opposed to a regular ring light.

Most get it for the circular catch light in the eye. I find that I tend to blind people when I get close enough, though.

I like using it for the halo effect of the shadow when they're up against a wall and also the shadow on the outer edge of their skin.
