I ordered a refurbished 20" iMac 2.0 a few weeks ago and I've been using it with no problems. I looked at "About This Mac" and I have a whole GB stick in there rather than the 512 it was supposed to come with. Just thought I'd tell you guys so you could be jealous of my cool Apple RAM. Thanks Apple!

this is the second story I've read about Apple not properly inspecting the refurb systems before sending them back out.

actually apple does this alot, it's not really the fact of them not inspecting the computer.. but if someone upgraded to 768 ram than 512, apple sometimes, usually just keeps it in there, happend alot with the pb's in terms of graphics the 128 or 64 or smthn and ram as well..

kinda depends on if the refurb you got was a BTO or just the normal ones.. so be happy lol, i know i would be...was going to order refurb before just to see if i'd get lucky and get a nice upgrade =)
