I need something simple, fairly easy to use, and not bloated. I've done some googling, saw Kexi and a few others, but I have no idea about these softwares. Basically what I want to do is design a simple form, probably with a dozen fields, navigation buttons, and store data in a database file. What can you guys recommend?

I don't think so... Openoffice.org. It's pretty much a freeware version of Microsoft Office.

if you need a simple database input form, without ms access. you have a few options:

    1) use opensource software like above

    2) build your access database with a form and have the ms access Runtime (free download) installed on the client machines that don't have Access.

    3) if you have a little time, view the videos from asp.net or microsoft.com/vstudio. Get Visual studio express and build a simple entry form that uses a ms access db as it's data source.

    just my 2 cents.
