Pop won't let me mod my daily driver which is fairly understandble. I had saved up about 8k for a Hiboost turbo kit, wheels, CBE, some minor cosmetics and a sound system but it now has to stay stock(Mazda 3 :). Now I've got some money to spend on a project. I'd like to buy a fox if I can find a nice one. I do NOT want to spend alot of money intitially.

    I've got a few questions:

-How hard is it to find a fox for 3k?
-What's the max # of miles that I should buy one?
-Aside from rust/obvious issues, what should I look out for when checking a car out?

its not hard to find one for 3k, but it will most likely have some rust, the 5.0 will run forever.

my buddy has a 95 5.0 with 160k on it and the engine still runs strong and hes not affraid to get on it.

my suggestion is to get a 94/95
    still pretty cheap to mod

I bought my Fox for 3500 and it came with a few extra parts which I ended up selling for $800. It has 160k on the body, zero rust though. I beat the piss out of my car too.

If you're going for a straight line drag car i'd advise a fox. If you want to make it handle, build an SN95. They already have 4 wheel discs (just got done doing my 4 wheel cobra discs on my fox, not fun), and you can run wider wheels all around.

The cost of a nice fox is dependent on your area. I know a guy in jersey who said that he regularly sees good condition foxes going for less than 4k. Here you have to pay somewhere close to, if not over, 5k to get a nice one.

true, in the south you can find them cheap all day long, but if you want a rust free one in the north you're going to pay for it.

Looks like I'm going SN95 then. I might pick one up while I'm down in Houston to see some family. They are dirt cheap down there.

Wow, that's really nice. I'd ditch the side exhaust and run a dual rear exhaust. LOVE the wheels and the fact that it has no wing. What are the specs?
