Intresting thing about Texas
Concealed handgun license holders in Texas are exempt from background checks when purchasing a firearm, according to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) chart that outlines those permits that qualify as alternatives to the Brady Act. Please note that ATF's exempt status determination is subject to change without notice. For further information, see the Texas Background Checks section.
So that means when going through an FFL they dont have to call it in?
That is correct. Purchasing a firearm at an FFL, they will write down your CHL number on the yellow form instead of calling it in to Austin.
Thanks for posting this. Great information.
I like the concealed carry permit map on this one. It shows reciprocity with other states and outlines each state's concealed carry laws.
It's basically a replacement for packing.org
handgunlaw.us is the same and i think they've been around for quite a while.
Im so used to that in GA, that I didnt think it was a big deal.
