Yeah I know there is a Forza 3 thread already but it's huge...

I am running my 360 via HDMI through my receiver and I get random cracking/popping sounds through my speakers while racing, it's random but it seems to happen a lot at split times. I bypassed my receiver and ran the HDMI straight to my TV and it's still there. I tired a different cable and it's still there. I uninstalled the main disc from the HDD and it 99% went away, it may still be there a tiny bit but it's so quiet I don't hear it unless I really concentrate on it.

So, anyone else with this problem?

I had random audio dropouts that lasted about half a second. I thought it was happening when a song was changing, but I'm not too sure about that because it happened in the middle of a song once. Didn't really do much troubleshooting because it didn't bother me too much. :hs:

Only time I noticed sound problems was when shifting here and there, the sound would get hung up at a certain point and not update with the rpms

I have heard this going through a digital out but it seems very infrequent and only seemed to occur on certain cars within certain rev ranges. I was thinking it was just popping from the motor but it doesn't sound right. I think it's just bad sound effects for igniting gas in the header or exhaust for particular cars.

I don't think so, it's a sharp, sharp snap. Not much louder then the rest of the game sounds so it's not blowing out my speakers or anything but it's not supposed to be there. Like I said, it happens at splits often. It's not a engine sound effect, at least mine isn't.

I haven't heard the popping like your describing. I'm running component out to my tv then to my surround sound.

Every once in a while there will be a slight sound lag during the rev sequence at the beginning of the race though.

yeah I've had it happen, too. I have music turned off, and it happens far more often than just when shifting. the actual occurrence seems to be random, though, so I'd go with the processor spiking explanation.

Not even the 360 can handle such an amateurish game like Forza 3 at its peak. :mamoru:

i've had it happen at the end of replays and very rarely during races

i could record the audio and send it to them but it happens so rarely that i would probably run out of storage before i got it

every movie I've made has had audio glitches, but I've only heard the crackling/popping sounds during races

:ugh: :ugh: :ugh: Another reason why they didn't get my money. Put some love and effort into your game. :ugh2:

    This is why Polyphony owns.

The more you hear and the more you play you do get the feel of the game being a tad unfinished :o

The shifting animations for instance :sad2: This crap with the sound (it appears to be at least 2 differing sound bugs)
    The F100 cars.
    The fucked up match making

Still love it though :love:but they seemed too interested in hitting the release date :uh:

    Been doing some experimenting...

Hot laps (no other cars): glitch pretty much gone
Regular race with opponents car audio slider all the way down: glitch still there but pretty much gone (a little worse the a hot lap)

so yeah, seems like some type of processing spike.

Don't forget the unfinished cockpits. The only thing they really nailed in the game is how the cars feel when they drive and the steering prediction algorithm when using a controller.
