WEB FORUM BOARD QUESTION

    Hey everyone... I just recently started a forum with proboards fore emergency services http://911dispatcher.proboards74.com and I was wondering if there was a way to eith A. transfer all the site info (posts,users) etc to something like vbulletin or B. a way to keep the site the way it is but be able to have a new web address for it.. like www.911dispatcher.com but it will go to 911dispatcher.proboards74.com

    when you buy the domain, you can redirect it to that address :dunno:

    Im a newbie who does not know much about the net... If i buy a domain name www.blahblahblah.watever how do I redirect it?

    you have 19 users. ditch proboards and use something that you can upgrade with. I like vB but you can upgrade from phpdd or mybb looks like an interesting path.

    move away from proboards while the site is still small and you loose less data. If you point the domain at the proboards website you will not gain anything and in a couple years your data is still theirs and not yours.

    The forum I run was started on EZboards and we ran into the same thing several years ago.

    copiertalk speaks the truth. Switch to vbulletin/phpbb/ipb now with your own host/domain before it gets any bigger.
