    you'd think unless he lost consciousness, he could roll it off himself in time, but obviously he didnt.

    I have a rack that has safetys on it I set them to the notch right below my chest, so if I drop it, and I have, I can push them toward my gut while sucking in and slide out. I don't know why you would lift heavy weights with out some sort of spot/safety net.
