Not a suprise at all, given SVT's history.
But what you also need to know is that ford is putting more money into svt right now than ever before
SVT always takes a break to produce new models. There's a new Lightning AND Cobra to develop, so this isn't a shock to anyone.
I am already lubing up in preparation for the when both of those come out.
"a more premium position"?
say goodbye to performance fords and hello to factory rice and bling
They have to make sure the hp is correct.
and the link
I read that as a $40k+ Lightning and Cobra...
After finally getting the cobra right and making the one mustang in history worth buying, I think it's a little odd they're only making it for two model years.
Ford Division, planning to take the SVT performance brand to a more premium position, will drop the SVT Focus after the 2004 model year, the company says.
is this basically saying we are going to make the SVT lineup more expensive?
I knew there wouldn't be anything out of SVT until 2006 model year.
meh ... im just waiting for the 2006 cobra (shelby )
I bet asking price will be around 50k not including dealer markup.
What really sucks is it's gonna be a longer time before the current ones start depreciating to where i can afford em
it might be worth it
I blame Dodge and GM for this. Dodge's SRT-10 Ram is in the mid to upper $40k price range, and the lightning is looking to be there as well, as opposed to the sub $40k price it carries now. And once GM axed the F-bodies, Mustang Cobra aimed a bit higher at the vette, which is also in the $40k+ range. Thank you Dodge and GM for upping the price of Fords.
I doubt it.
Hey, when there are $50k mustangs and F-150s, maybe people will stop being all pissy about $30k mitsus and subarus.
There's no cheap competition because chevy and dodge are gay. If they pulled their heads out of their asses we could have continued to a new golden age.
