    Ford dealers bail out quickly

Shrinking truck sales, market share cause retailers to exit without prodding

It turns out it's easier to get dealers to flee than Ford Motor Co. executives thought. About 300 Ford and Lincoln-Mercury stores will be gone by the end of 2007. That's about half as many as executives expected when Ford began its dealership reduction program late last summer.

  6. I drove into a ford dealership recently to turn around. I had about 6 salesmen trying to flag down my car on my way out.

He's right. If Ford files ch.11 GM will have to follow. Ford will get out of their union contracts and GM would have no choice but to follow suite.

  14. I'd own a GM or Chrysler car before buying a Ford
