...When do you think we will see any real changes? I look at a couple forums and there are quite a few people out there who are worried about what's coming and are stocking up on ammo and various firearms as a result.

    Is this worry justified?

After what I've read, I'm starting to feel worried too and will probably get my first AR before year's end. I just don't want my concerns to be unjustified.

If I could predict the future I'd play the lottery and not give gun purchasing advice on the internet.

Since I can't...max out your credit cards. Help the economy at least.

I'd say that rationally, the only change you should be doing is moving the black rifles and cool handguns further up the list than they already are, and getting more ammo in calibers like x54, x39, and 5.45. Other than, I don't think .223 or .308 is going to be banned any time soon, and hunting and pure target bolt actions will probably be safe for slightly longer.

If your worried and want to get stuff now, start with anything thats imported cause that'll probably be the first thing to be cut off.

Imports will go first, since that can be done without much legal footwork.

Any bans would be hard-pressed to get passed within a year or two, but you can believe prices on things like mags and AW's will start climbing in anticipation as soon as he's elected.

I want to try and get at least a couple of 74 kits and cases before next week.

As for handguns, i'd only worry about guns with 10+ round capacity. The others should be safe after Heller.

At the risk of donning the tinfoil hat, there's nothing to say a new AWB couldn't also cover ANY firearm capable of accepting a high cap mag.

Heller is gonna be in for a heller of a fight if this nut makes it to the White House.

Something tells me a new AWB would exempt handguns, just to increase it's chances of passing.

The sane and logical truth is that no one has any idea what will happen.

Anti states like IL can't even pass an AWB or a magazine ban. -1 antis
Bad economy = more crime = gun control. +1 antis
Democratic president can sign bad executive orders. +1 antis
Gun sales & concealed carry at record numbers, the public likes guns now. -1 antis
Heller decision establishes incredible new footing to fight gun control. -1 antis
President Obama has gun control as part of political platform. +1 antis
Democrats remember that gun control has cost them dearly in the past. -1 antis
Biden is a VERY strong anti. +1 antis

The list goes on and its a wash.

I'm sure you'd love a real dependable answer but anyone who gives you one is blowing smoke up your dress if they answer with anything other than "i don't know because i can't see the future."

It is not like the president get sworn in on Monday and he can have all guns banned Tuesday. Let's face it, congress is slow to get anything done. The key is to watch out for upcoming legislation and check they are not trying to sneak it in on another bill (they have done it before). Prices will go up toward the vote, so if it looks like it will pass get it well before.

I think the problem is we did look up the facts.

Obama is a megalomaniacal demagogue who thinks he can do no wrong. He's going to have a democrat super majority in congress and a loaded supreme court. Feinstein and Schumer can barely contain their ecstasy. Over the next 8 years, they'll get a rubber stamp for every piece of legislation they want.

Plenty of things he could do by signing EO's though.

I'm not really worried about immediate bans...he'll have bigger fish to fry such as our rapidly-dying economy, redistributing wealth, ensuring economic justice, and shoving an impossible universal health care plan on us. But, there's the small piece of me wearing tinfoil that said, "Fuck this, buy the kids' ARs now!" and so I did.
