Haven't heard that since like 97.
I'm a software developer, that includes websites.
I have a client server app my company uses written in C# with a SQL 2000 back end.
thought we were in the webmaster lab for a moment
We most certainly are.
I just picture it as a noob term. never heard any "professionals" use it.
I don't know. I think it goes back to this one time i was watching People court, and this ghetto broke chick was being sued. The judge says to her "Whats your occupation" and she says "Webmaster"
When i saw that she was doin it, i knew i had to expand my horizons to all aspects of programming.
Since then, "Webmaster" has had a negative connotation with me
no disrespect intended.
You know what I meant. Web Developer, Internet Entrepreneur, just curious as to if this was a part time hobby or full time job for most of us
Yeah, I don't consider myself a Webmaster. I consider myself a Web Developer, that's by occupation as well. I considered myself a Webmaster in the late 90's. I see a "Webmaster" as one with minimal knowledge, enough to launch and administrate their site.
Bingo. Thats how i see it.
No knowledge of how the server software works, can't tweak the server, database, etc.
This was acceptable in the last 90s. No longer though
I work in a support center and take trouble calls all day long. Mostly regarding Cisco related products and technologies.
Sooo boring..... but it was my foot in the door for this company. =)
