just building it, about 8 hours, cut sanding and sticking it together.

painting and detailing... hell, thats very's with your skill, and how far you go with it.

im working on a level 3 and im some where on 8 hours or so. and im not painting like i should. just the typical out lines and basic details. i should have it done tomorrow.

i have done some lever 2 in 4-8 hours. but that's very very limiting detail work.

if you into detail, then you'll be doing some tape edges, cutting or buying very thin brushes, mixing paint...and don't forget the FREAKING head..damn that takes awhile

i just checked some other sites, these are expensive...the cool ones are in the 200-300 $ range.
still, i might shell out 50 for a decent one.

    1/60 PG are usually 120-180
1/60 RBD (real big detail) are basicly HG kits, are in the 60's

1/100 master grades are in the fortys. you can find them on ebay cheaper from hongkong but shipping will kill you.

1/100 high grades are from the teens to mid 20s.

    1/144 HG/MSV 10-20

anything below HG are ok, but don't leave me felling fulfilled.

alright, I’ve looked around a lot, still a little unsure. If I just want to start out, what model should I get? Nothing requiring too much detail, I’d like for it to be poseable and for it to have hatches that can open to see the inner details. Any recommendations?

I started out with a high grade 1/100 scale. i was very happy with it, gives an idea of how they come together and you can practice more detailed painting/sanding without ruining a more expensive model. These are the ones that are right under 20bucks. They pose a bit but arent super flexible, but still offer a good bit of detail.

next up is a master grade :bigthumb:
