I just got back from Costco, and this is what I got:

24 cans of Chicken of the Sea Chunk Light tuna
2 tubs of Knudsen cottage cheese, small curd
    18 chicken breasts
2 Oroweat Whole Wheat bread loafs
    1 pound of beef jerky
    6 cans Chicken Chili
2 big bags of Quaker oats

All for ~$65. to Costco

Everything but the chunk light is cool. I can't stand eating chunk light anymore. Its all about the albacore. I really like bumblebee's gold can albacore.

i get the exact same tuna, cottage cheese, and chicken breasts.

    my fav?

chicken breasts. so many things you can do with them. those skinless, boneless breasts are so lean, and so loaded with protein.

how much did the tuna cost per can?

I just bought 10lbs of chicken there today! Its cool because I have friends that work there and I don't pay the yearly fee.

Costco is cool, just watch their prices..a lot of times their prices are the same or higher than a grocery store, it's just that they stock the bigger sizes of stuff.

The only thing I don't like about frozen chicken breast from Purdue or Tyson is that it is pumped full of antibiotics and growth hormones. I wish I could find organic frozen chicken breast at Costco.

I just had about 3-4 servings (of a total of 11 in the tub) of cottage cheese, 2 pieces of jerky, and a slice of wheat bread as my mid morning meal before work. I added a tablespoon of apricot jam in the cottage cheese, and it tastes incredibly good (it tastes great by itself, too).

    Total calories = 600
    Very little fat
    Few carbs
    ~65g protein

Check it out for yourself. I've compared prices many times and it's not always cheaper.

Chicken is one of the things I've noticed actually..chicken on sale you can usually find for 1.99/lb any given week (at least around here). It's more than 1.99 a pound at Costco, I think it was 2.50 a pound last time I was there.

Other things I've noticed..tuna can be found cheaper elsewhere on sale; string cheese also. But they have the best price on Splenda and dried fruit etc :dunno:

Just saying check it out :p I can't always afford to buy stuff in bulk in the first place anyways so I play coupon queen at the supermarkets.
