Now that Warrants are put in positions as Battalion Commanders etc, how does the saluting work. A CW5 could be in charge of a Battalion, but would he still have to salute a butter bar?

I was talking to my parent's neighbor the other day. He is a retired CMSgt from the AF. He retired in 1968. He was telling me about warrants in the AF and about how he helped develop the SR-71 out at Edwards. I was :eek3: the whole time.

i would think so, since saluting rank is regulation regardless of positional authority.

i.e., i may be a squadron commander (O-4/5), but i will still salute an O-6 if he happens to be assigned to my squadron (which happens occasionally)

We have a Warrant in my Reserve unit. He shows up on one of our drill days, does a little " :hsugh: ", and then disappears for another month.
