idk why this bugs me at all, in fact it really shouldn't bug me the slightest bit, but it does so I have to know. I have a sony home theater in a box. Yes I know boo hiss sony sucks... My question is why are sony recievers the only ones that use numbers for the volume levels? My friend has a yamaha reciever and he likes the inputs and the controls but like me he is bothered by the +- db instead of just putting a number on the screen. so my question is: Why do almost all home theater recievers use the db rating for volume rather than an easy to use number scale like the rest of the audio world?
