Here in NY the magazine capacity with a pistol grip is 5 rounds. No limit with a regular stock.

    What would you guys choose?

I think if I had to shoot someone in my home I would like to have the least tacticool weapon possible. Just my opinion.

I'm not sure you really need either one and might in fact be better off with a lightweight shotgun. I'd probably go for the magazine extension I guess.

I'm assuming he meant pistol grip stock and not a pistol grip only, if he meant pistol grip only then I need a rolled up newspaper.

Get whichever one feels better in your hands. :dunno: If you can't neutralize a threat with 5 shotgun shells, those 3 more aren't going to make much of a difference.

I don't know where to go other than Gander Mountain or maybe Dick's. :o

I'm thinking Mossberg 930 SPX, Benelli Supernova Tactical, or maybe a Benelli M4 (Not sure I want to spend that much, so probably between the other two).

whats a good site to check out accessories like a pistol gripped stock for a mossberg crusader/persuader? picked me up one today, i need to get back into guns... all the car modding is too costly.

I have a Mossberg 500 tactical shotgun. It has a collapsable stock and is .5" above the banned shotgun length.

This is mine, but I have a collapsable stock like below.

Oh, and my Mossberg had an MSRP of like $379 and I got it at a gun sale for $309 out the door. :)

get a pump full stock. more reliable, and you can get a few more rounds in the tube. Shooting pistol gripped shottys beats the shit out of my wrists. ymmv.

I'm the opposite, I hate a full stock, it kills my shoulder and the gun seems awkwardly long with a full stock for HD. I like to practice alot with my Mossberg though. My wrist is fine with a PG only, I don't stiffen up though, I let my arm eat a little of the recoil by swinging back a bit. I guess some people would only shoot it occasionaly so a sore sdhoulder wouldn't be a big deal.

Keep in mind what kind of distances you'll be shooting if it's for HD only. It'd be tough to find a straight 10 yard shot in my house. I'd ahve to be sitting on my kitchen counter and the BG all the way backed up against my living room wall. In reality it'd be more like 5 yards if I was shooting at a BG anywhere in teh house, probably closer. if you can't hit a target at 5-7 yards w/ a PG only....:ugh:

Now if you're preparing for zombies at 25 yards, then get a full stock.:mamoru:

The 930SPX is a pretty sweet gun if you're looking for an auto-loader. Dicks usually has them in stock and a fairly decent price at that.

FYI, if you put a stock on a pistol grip cruiser, it is illegal per my last conversation with ATF agent

I'd go with something like the Mossberg Persuader/Defender with a regular stock.

If you're used to shooting rifles or shotguns, the full stock shotgun will swing more naturally. Since the barrel will be pretty short it should still be small enough for indoors CQB.

It's illegal ( as long as the barrel is under 18 inches.)

It's turning a smooth bore handgun into a short barreled shotgun which needs the NFA stamp.

thats not how it was told to me, that gun is sold as a pistol, it's placing a stock on a pistol, has nothing to do with barrel length at that point

Yes, because ATF agents are a wealth of knowledge about firearms...
