I downloaded that bach with hundreds of different presets for lightroom and now I'm sick at looking at them and trying to decide which one is the best for each fucking pic I took today. Im sick of PPing in general. It takes so much time and its boring!

PPing is one of my favorite parts. I just wish it wasn't so time consuming and that I wasn't such a perfectionist.

Do you use your own presets or other presets? Or do you do everything from scratch?

Personally I do all of that, depends on the picture, the importance of it to me, and how much time I have. The more important it is, the lest preset uses I use.

I know exactly how you feel. I've not posted literally hundreds of pics of family events because I feel that every pic has to be as perfect as can be or I will not post it.

    that being said..

PM link to said batch of hundreds of presets for LR:x:

    exactly.

if I'm printing something bigger than 4x6, it has to be flawless.

There is a thread somewhere here on OTAP where someone posted it.

I think girth made the thread with the link for presets you're talking about

that said I use a mix of presets and some actions that require hands on adjustments in my PP.

I like PP. I just don't like spending too much time on one picture!

    experimental PP is fun tho

when using a trial version of some software to see if you like it and want to buy it...that can be enjoyable.

I have a tendancy to see something in a podcast and then decide I need to try it...and see how that comes out. As a matter of fact there's something I saw recently I need to see how it works out:o

It was the same with film. I LOVED being in the darkroom. Now, I LOVE being in photoshop.

Something about taking the vision I had in my head and pushing it out to the final print.

My film and digital images are never exactly what I had in my head for the final result of the image. I take the negative as a starting point, then use the tools I have to make it what I want. Nothing you see of mine is anywhere near straight from camera unless I specifically say so.

No such thing. PP until it looks the way you want it too.

The important thing is to come into a photograph with an idea of what you want it to be when it's done, and stop when you achieve that.

Some of my images take 1 curves layer, and others have 40+ layers and use just about every tool in photoshop. Depends on where i'm at and where I want to go.

It a pain in the ass when there is a shitty picture in front of you, but somehow you have to try to polish it up because thats the only shot of the scene you have. If i get 2 or 3 pictures in a row like that, i feel like shooting myself.

Yeah I know where you're coming from. The thing is like ever since I started to PP I feel overwhelmed with all the adjustments you can do. I have difficulties sometimes to know exactly what it is that I need to fix and edit, and I usally never have a vision of what I want. I have to like look at the different options to be sure.
