I've been working out for about 3 years and before this program I was doing something very similar to max ot and bill starr, ramping up weights 5x5. For example (we'll stick with just the simple lifts): Squats: 5x135 5x175 5x205 5x225 5x245 Bench: 5x115 5x135 5x175 5x185 5x210 Now I'm exhausted and can barely put up any weight at all: Squats: 10x145 8x145 7x145 7x145 and my legs are shaking on the last set Bench: 12x135 12x135 10x135 8x135 I feel smaller, but maybe that's just my ego. What gives? I took a week off between switching to a new routine. I stick to the same diet. Lots of brown rice, chicken, steak, complex carbs and proteins. I don't have mono, and I'm getting the same amount of sleep. Only variable is the workout.
